Magnum Inspiration: Dennis Stock

I am inspired by the colors, the detailed perspective and the nature study of Dennis Stock.  These pictures that he took cause me to pay attention an even greater beauty in things I already believed to be beautiful.
Dennis Stock said that the two things he has emphasized in his work are "affirmative reactions to human behavior and a strong attraction to the beauty in nature."

When I visited Yellowstone this semester I tried to find and emulate that same kind of beauty.

How to give a hedgehog a bath

1. Fill a sink with luke warm water only a few inches deep.

2. Use a soft toothbrush and tear free baby shampoo or Aveeno oatmeal baby shampoo.

3. Put the hedgehog in the water, making sure it is able to stand.

4. Apply a small amount of shampoo to the toothbrush.

5. Use the toothbrush to wash the spines of the hedgehog.

6. Gently scoop water over the hedgehog's back to rinse the shampoo, making sure to not get water in the hedgehog's eyes, nose or ears.

7. Wrap the hedgehog in a dry towel for a few minutes.  Make sure it stays warm while it dries off.

Dime on a Map

A portion of my area was Salem City and as I started researching the city and it's history, I found that it was first called Pond Town.  I found a few of the ponds in the city and there were people fishing as well as a cabin on the west bank of the biggest pond, which was the first post office around 1872.  During Christmas time there are Christmas lights set up around the pond as well as horse drawn carriage rides.
Lyman Curtis eventually changed the city's name to Salem meaning city of peace.
